Based on the applicable laws of your country or state of residence in the US, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, details about how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, or delete your personal information. 14. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE STARTKAPITAL WEBSITE
This section applies in addition to the website https://bvhstartkapital.org (StartKapital) and the redirect domain startkapital.jetzt. The controller is the Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen (BVH) e.V., Schloss, 68131 Mannheim, Germany. Questions about StartKapital can be sent to [email protected]. Where this section differs from sections 1 to 13, it takes precedence for the StartKapital website. The StartKapital website does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising services.
Hosting and server log files
The website is operated on a server provided by STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, in Germany. With every request, the IP address, date and time, requested page, status code, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser and operating system are recorded automatically in server log files. This is technically necessary to deliver the site and keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (operation and security of the website). We delete the log files after seven days. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO AG.
Cookies and management of your consent
The website does not set tracking cookies. To manage your cookie settings we use the service Termly (Termly, Inc., USA). When you open the site, a script is loaded from app.termly.io and your IP address is transmitted to Termly. Your choice is stored in your browser. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR (implementing and documenting your decision). Where data is transferred to the USA, this is based on standard contractual clauses under Art. 46 GDPR. You can change your settings at any time using the link "Cookie preferences" in the footer of the site. Apart from the Termly script we do not load content from third-party servers, so there are no external fonts, maps or videos and no social media plugins.
Contact and session requests
If you write to us using the contact form or the session request form, your email program opens with a prepared message. Data only reaches us once you send the email yourself. To process your request we use the details you provide, for example name, email address, school or institution, place, requested modules, date, number of participants and your message. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (handling requests and documenting our sessions). For session requests we pass your details on to the volunteers who run the session. We delete your data once your request is completed, at the latest after twelve months. If a session has taken place, we keep the details for documentation and funding reports for up to three years.
Newsletter
You can subscribe to the BVH newsletter and the StartKapital newsletter. For this we process your email address and the time and confirmation of your sign-up. Sign-up takes place in two steps (double opt-in): after you submit the form we send you an email with a confirmation link. Only after you click it do we add you to the mailing list. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by email to [email protected]. We then delete your address from the mailing list. We keep proof of your earlier consent separately for as long as we need it to defend against claims (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The sign-up form is an external form. Mailjet SAS, Paris, France, sends the newsletters as our processor. A data processing agreement is in place with Mailjet.
Donations
For a donation by bank transfer we receive your name, account details and payment reference through our bank. We process this data to book the donation and, if you wish, to issue a donation receipt (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). We keep donation records for ten years because of tax law obligations.
Calculator and downloads
The retirement calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your entries are neither transmitted to us or to third parties nor stored. We count how often documents are downloaded. We only store the date and the path of the file, but no IP address and no information about your device. The figures do not allow any conclusions about individuals.
External links
The website contains links to external sites, for example to the BVH social media profiles, the Meta Kaasch Stiftung and the newsletter form. When you click them you leave our site. The respective operators are responsible for the data processing there.
Your rights and supervisory authority
Your rights under section 8 also apply to StartKapital. Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests, you can object to the processing under Art. 21 GDPR. The competent supervisory authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
